FAQs

This is probably new territory for you, so maybe we can help by listing some of the questions we hear the most.

One thing you may notice is that a lot of questions contain the answer, “It depends.” That’s because this is your portrait. It has to be uniquely you, so let’s not box you into something you won’t like.

Of course, if there’s anything you still have questions about, please don’t hesitate to ask.

What kind of photographer are you?

A: I feel it’s necessary to blend the skills and training of a portrait photographer with the sensitivity of an artist and family man. I’m picky on the clients I work with as I’m much more interested in crafting something special than seeing how many sessions I can book.

Q: Where will my session be held?

A: That’s up to you. There are so many great locations in Macomb, St. Clair and Oakland Counties that we really have a lot of choices. We also do more formal (but fun!) sessions in my home studio. Finally, we can do formal or casual (or a mix) in your own home. Let’s talk about what you’d like.

Q: How long will my session be?

A: A session will usually last about 45 minutes. That seems like a long time, but you deserve the time it takes to create something special. Family sessions take a bit longer because we like to get individuals and small groups while everybody’s together.

Q: What should I wear?

A: That’s a great question that everybody asks. It depends on a lot of things but first and foremost, it has to be what makes you feel special. That may be jeans or it may be a dress or a suit. We’ll discuss your wardrobe as your session gets closer and use that as a starting point.

Q: What will my session be like?

A: Fun! Standing or sitting for stiff, posed mug shots aren’t enjoyable and that’s not what you want to record anyway. If you want "‘stuffy’, you might be better off talking to someone else. If you want to enjoy the experience and have something you’ll enjoy looking at and sharing for years, we need tgo talk!

Q: How far out are you booked?

A: That depends on the time of year. If it’s important to you, we’ll make it happen. Most of our work is done on Friday and Saturday (we don’t work on Sunday)

Q: How can I order prints and products from you?

A: After your session, you’ll see your previews in a private, online gallery created just for you and that you can share. Once you’ve made your selections, we’ll go over your selections and you can order your prints from your gallery. We’ll do final retouching and color correcting on those images and the prints will be created by a custom color lab and sent right to your door.

Anything else - just ask!
